Artist Journey
I paint in oil, expressing three distinct styles: Oceanic Abstraction, quirky and whimsical Figurative Abstraction, and Hyper-Realism underwater feminine form.
In my Oceanic Abstraction paintings, viewers are invited to immerse themselves in the mesmerizing hues of reef-like interpretations. Currents, tides, reefs, the flow of the ocean, and the ever-changing colours of the sea inspire me to create my highly fluid artworks, creating a peaceful serenity. My goal is to connect with the viewer's inner psyche, fostering a deeper bond with both the ocean and oneself.
My playful and quirky Figurative Abstract ‘Beach Bums’ reflect my personal connection to beach culture in Australia. I intentionally paint the figures in awkward, ungainly poses, exploring themes of human frailty and vulnerability. Despite their unconventional presentation, they of offer a unique perspective on a familiar subject.
My hyper realism paints require pure dedication to my practice. My work focusses on feminine figures submerged in the ocean, capturing the interplay of light reflections on the body. Experimenting with refraction, illusion, depth of field and distortion. I strive to create a sense of freedom, escape, and my own personal growth. I invite the viewer to surrender to the moment and embrace the fluidity of life.
